Han University of Traditonal Medicine requires documentation of the following for entrance into the Master of Acupuncture and Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree programs:

• Two (2) years of accredited college or university study (90 quarter credits or 60 semester credits).
• Ninety (90) hours of Anatomy and Physiology from an accredited college or university Anatomy and Physiology can be taken as a Co-Requisite during the first academic year with either Masters program.
• College biology, chemistry and microbiology which can be taken as a Co-Requisite during the first year of study.

The programs are designed for full-time students, however, part-time students will be accepted on a space available basis. Students are accepted throughout the year forenrollment with classes beginning each Fall Quarter. Classes are small and, due to our limited space, early application is advised.

The following materials must be received to initiate the admissions process and to be considered for acceptance:

  1. Completed application form with $150 application fee ($300 application fee for International Students)
  2. Official transcripts from each college or university attended
  3. Essay relating as to why you want to study Chinese Medicine
  4. Completed, up-to-date CV
  5. Health Practitioner’s letter attesting to the applicant’s ability to undertake a rigorous program of study
  6. Two letters of recommendation
  7. Two passport sized photos
  8. TOEFL – please see requirements here
  9. Documentation of an acupuncture treatment
  10. Physical exam with proof of negative PPD (tuberculosis test) on form provided by HUTM

Upon receipt of the above materials, applicants will be notified to set up an in-person interview at the Institute with member(s) of the Admissions Committee. After the interview, the committee will review the applications for final approval and the applicants will be notified in writing shortly thereafter.

Potential students are welcome to visit the facility, sit in on classes, and speak with students, faculty, and administrators. All applicants must have received acupuncture at some time in order to be considered for acceptance.
